Born in Leicester, England in 1969,.Monk studied at the
Glasgow School of Arts from 1988 to 1991, and has lived in Berlin since
1999.
His practice typically plays with the idea of meaning
in language and the imagination, often referencing the work of major 20th
century artists as a starting point.
Monk has exhibited widely throughout the U.S. and Europe and his work
is held by leading museums and collections.
