Born in 1950, Andres Serrano first achieved fame - and notoriety - for his 1987 image 'Piss Christ', depicting a crucifix submerged in urine.

Despite the continuing iconoclasm of many of his chosen subjects, Serrano's compositional and technical skills make him one of the most formally interesting photographers working today.
