Born in 1975 and living and working in London, an interesting process lies behind Moran's lushly eloquent abstractions.
Inspiration is provided by images sourced from the internet, magazines or Moran's own photographs. Beginning a piece with a single image, Moran then adds further references, painting onto a canvas positioned upside down so that painterly movement and gesture become the foremost features.
Yet - as the specicifity of titles such as Wasabi without Tears imply - the figurative sources from which the work evolves are expected to remain in some capacity: Moran only deems a work finished when she herself can identify a figurative element in the painting.
