Zak Prekop

Chicago-based Zak Prekop is a recent graduate whose finely-tuned painting is beginning to provoke considerable interest.

Evincing similar formal concerns to many of the other American abstract artists featured here, the hard edges and expansive colour planes of his compositions are offset by a use of paint in which texture, tonal nuance and, increasingly, sinuous line-work are made evident.
