Hyungkoo Lee

In addition to his previously featured Animatus series of cartoon character skeletons, Korean artist Hyungkoo Lee creates devices designed to alter the appearance of the human body.

These range from vacuum suction mechanisms that temporarily enlarge limbs or flesh, to 'helmets' that distort facial features (above).

Fitted with high-powered magnifying lenses, the wearer is transformed into a cartoon-like, otherwordly grotesque.
